Vermont Maple Syrup Grades
Orchard Hill Farm maple syrup is available in four different grades. These grades comply with the State of Vermont grading system of Vermont Fancy, Vermont Grade A Medium Amber, Vermont Grade A Dark Amber and Grade B Maple Syrup. .
Mother nature is completely in control of what grades we make in any given season. A complex combination of temperature, humidity, yearly rain amounts and other factors determine our grade production. We sometimes do not have all grades available due to these conditions.
The Vermont Agency of Agriculture has set higher standards  for syrup density than US and Canadian grading specifications. The result is a higher sugar content and more intense maple flavor in pure Vermont maple syrup.
- Orchard Hill Farm Gold®
This grade has the highest sugar content and is a light amber color with a delicate maple flavor. Try it over a good vanilla bean ice cream. - Orchard Hill Farm Silver®
This grade is medium amber color and has a more pronounced maple flavor. Best grade for all table around use. - Orchard Hill Farm Bronze®
This grade has a dark amber color with a distinct maple flavor. It is the best grade to use in recipes due to its robust maple bouquet.
We also offer Vermont Grade B Maple Syrup. Grade B is the strongest and darkest maple syrup and is a favorite amoung some chefs, cooks and bakers for its robust maple flavor. It's hard for us to recommend what grade you'll likely prefer most. It depends on how you're using our product. Individual tastes vary widely. We wouldn't mind if you tried all three.
